THINGS TO KNOW
Every year in late May and early June, soccer clubs conduct their annual tryouts to place players on a team based on their abilities.
When we look at athletes, we measure their technical and tactical abilities along with their physical and psychological attributes. A tryout period does not always allow us to fully rate players accurately. If you not currently integrated in the CO Rush/B-Elite Rush system, and would like to come to a practice or two ahead of time, please reach out to the age group Director. Current CO Rush/B-Elite Rush players will be observed throughout the entire year by their team Head Coach, Technical Director and/or Director of Coaching (DOC) during training sessions and games. They will be consequently placed more accurately within the Colorado Rush system. Evaluations will be based on the previously mentioned components in addition to attendance, attitude, team chemistry, and consistency.
The Head Coach will select his/her team with the assistance of the Directors at Colorado Rush/B-Elite Rush. Current CO Rush Academy players (ECNL, ECNL RL, and DPL) players are NOT required to attend tryouts . However, if a current CO Rush/B-Elite Rush competitive player wishes to move to another team, they are encouraged to attend tryouts, as it is the final step in the evaluation process. Players not currently playing for CO Rush/B-Elite Rush should attend as many tryout days as possible.
During any other time of the year, a Colorado Rush player may be asked to transfer, or may request a transfer, to another Colorado Rush team. We will transfer this player under special circumstances such as injuries, player/coach conflicts, consideration to the implications of the entire age group, ability level, etc. Head Coaches must communicate with their respective DOC to approve any player movement within the club. This process will always be done with the player in mind first and foremost and what is best for their development.
